Hi – I’m Brooke

I’m a corporate attorney turned Certified Health & Wellness Coach, here to support women living with chronic illness.

As someone who has navigated life with chronic illness for over 20 years, I have a personal passion to help you on your journey.

LET’S START AT THE VERY BEGINNING…

My Own Journey

My journey with illness began when I was just 12 years old.

I was diagnosed with my first autoimmune disease, Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura.
After over a year of treatment and a splenectomy, I thought my health challenges were behind me.

Fast forward 10 years, to the week before starting law school, when my life changed again.  I was diagnosed with another autoimmune disease, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, which for me combines symptoms of Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Scleroderma.

I spent my entire three years of law school navigating this diagnosis and finding the right doctors, medications and support. I always considered myself lucky though, because through the inevitable ups and downs, I had a very strong support system in my family and friends and great trust in my medical team.

Navigating Diagnosis

Despite many flare ups and other obstacles, I am proud to say that I graduated law school, met my husband, began working in “Big Law” and had two healthy daughters – a true blessing that was not a guarantee in my life.  I continued life as a mother, wife and full-time attorney, and while it looked like I was “doing it all,” the reality was that chronic illness was taking a major toll

Things got tougher when I would have flare ups.  I was working a lot and my chronic pain, fatigue and other symptoms weren’t slowing down.  I was always exhausted, not feeling well, having issues eating and sleeping, yet also expected to show up as my “regular” self both at home and at work.

Despite the medications and treatment, I felt that something wasn’t right.  Eventually, I realized that I needed to make additional changes.

I started questioning:

Do I really need to be on this much medication?  Why am I so tired all of the time?
Should my body always feel like this?

A New Approach

With the support of my doctors, husband and family, I began to investigate holistic approaches to supplement my health management. I explored using food as medicine to reduce some of my symptoms and boost my energy.  I prioritized movement, even on the days my body resisted.  I learned that sleep and stress management also play a crucial role in overall health, and that every aspect of life – nutrition, movement, rest, relationships and mindset – affects how we feel day to day, especially those of us with chronic illness.

This journey led me to pursue further education in coaching and integrative nutrition.  I now truly believe that health is both completely individual and multidimensional.  You are unique and YOU know your body best – better than any doctor or family member ever will.  What works for one person might not work for you.

To me, health isn’t just about medications or treatments –
it's also about integrating a holistic approach.

It’s about combining the expertise of your healthcare team with nourishing food, movement, rest, sleep, mental well-being and strong connections and community.  These elements, when aligned, can help you create meaningful and lasting change.

Are you ready to reassess your life and make changes to feel healthier, more energized and happier?  Whether it’s small adjustments or bigger shifts, I am here to support you every step of the way.  Life with chronic illness can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

As your coach, I am here to listen, guide you and help you identify what your mind and body need…

  to thrive.
